Karen Darnaby

Chief Operating Officer

Karen is a native Hoosier, born and raised in a small town in northwest Indiana. She later moved to Indianapolis and earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from Marian University. Before transitioning her focus to healthcare, Karen spent nearly 20 years in the hospitality industry, where she developed a genuine love of customer service and caring for others—something that remains an important part of what she brings to Hoosier Family today.

Karen believes exceptional care begins with listening, understanding individual needs, and helping connect families with the services, resources, and support.  She is passionate about ensuring families never feel like just another name or number, but instead feel heard, respected and informed.  Karen believes every family deserves compassionate, personalized care and someone willing to advocate for what they need.

Outside of work, Karen and her husband are raising a busy blended family of four children.  She loves musical theater, sushi, and relaxing by the fire pit in the fall.  Karen uses her commuting time to sing Hamilton and Wicked car karaoke, to the embarrassment of her children.
